Process

How cashless works in 5 steps

  1. 1

    Bring your documents to the centre

    Insurance card, photo ID, and the doctor's prescription. The centre will not raise a request without all three.

  2. 2

    The centre raises a pre-authorisation

    They send your scan request to your TPA along with the prescription and a clinical note from the radiologist.

  3. 3

    TPA reviews the request

    Decisions usually come back within 30 minutes to 4 hours, depending on the insurer and the type of scan.

  4. 4

    You receive the decision

    If approved, you do not pay for the covered amount. Any non-covered portion is paid at the counter.

  5. 5

    Centre completes the scan

    Once cashless is approved, the centre proceeds with the scan and submits the final claim to the TPA.

Documents to bring

  • Health insurance card (physical or digital)
  • Valid photo ID: Aadhaar, driver's licence, or PAN
  • Doctor's prescription with the scan name and clinical reason
  • Past reports related to the current scan
  • For senior patients, recent serum creatinine if contrast is planned

If cashless is not available

You can still use your insurance through reimbursement. Pay the centre directly, collect the GST invoice, the prescription, and the radiologist report, and submit the claim form to your insurer or TPA. Most insurers settle MRI reimbursements within 7 to 21 working days.

Keep a digital copy of every document. Your dashboard stores the booking invoice and the report PDF, both of which you can download as needed.
